Kilkeel

Kilkeel sits at the heart of the Kingdom of Mourne and is home to Northern Ireland’s largest fishing fleet.

The town has a variety of facilities and activities available, including a 25-metre, heated swimming pool and spa at the local leisure centre, tennis courts, golf, bowling and deep sea angling.

The Nautilus Centre, located at Kilkeel harbour, includes the Mourne Maritime Visitor Centre with touchscreen displays and exhibits charting the history of the harbour and the fishermen based there, along with interactive games that can be enjoyed by both adults and kids alike.

The Mourne Seafood Cookery School, which can be also be found within the Nautilus Centre, gives visitors the opportunity to learn all about buying, handling and cooking seafood under the expert tutelage of guest chefs.

Visitors can also enjoy a leisurely walk around the harbour, taking in the fresh sea air while keeping an eye out for ‘Salt & Pepper’, the two resident seals.
